В середине XIX века здание принадлежало шадринскому купцу Алексею Гавриловичу Демидову. В каменных кладовых рядом с домом хранили зерно и другие продукты, которые по санному пути развозили на Уральские заводы.
После отмены крепостного права и проведения судебной реформы в России были учреждены должности судебных следователей. Первый судебный следователь Далматовского участка был помещен в этом доме. Вот что писал в губернской газете за 24 июня 1868 года А.Н. Зырянов: «Городское управление помещалось в частных домах без всякого постоянства и переносилось и переносится ежегодно из дома в дом, смотря по капризу владельцев квартир или всякому новому выбору старост. Поэтому общество горожан задумало купить для города у купца Демидова частный дом, который составляет теперь красу и прелесть для Далматова, как обширный, просторный, состоящий в самом центре города вблизи монастыря и торговой площади. Этот дом, занимаемый ныне квартирой судебного следователя, годился бы всякому уездному городу и право бы составил квартиру любого генерала». В те времена над домом была небольшая башенка, и в бытность в этом доме городского управления эта башенка служила пожарной каланчой. Позднее здесь размещалось высшее начальное училище.
После Октябрьской революции в этом доме работала школа второй ступени, плодоовощной техникум, средняя школа, Дом пионеров и школьников, Дом творчества школьников и первая комсомольская ячейка в городе была организована здесь же.
В настоящее время в здании находится МБУ ДО «Далматовский Дом детского творчества».

In the middle of the XIX century, the building belonged to the Shadrinsk merchant Alexei Gavrilovich Demidov. Grain and other products were stored in stone pantries near the house, which were transported to the Ural factories along the sled route. Following the abolition of serfdom and the judicial reforms in Russia, the posts of court investigators were established. The first investigating magistrate of the Dalmatovo precinct was placed in this house. Here is what A.N.Zyryanov wrote in the provincial newspaper of the 24th June 1868: «City government was placed in private houses without any steadiness and was and is moved every year from house to house, depending on a caprice of owners of flats or any new choice of starostas. This is why the community of the townspeople planned to buy for the town from the merchant Demidov a private house, which now forms the beauty and charm of Dalmatovo Town, as it is extensive, spacious, and situated in the very centre of the town near the monastery and the market square. This house, now occupied by a court examiner’s flat, would suit every county town and would be the right flat for any general. It had a small tower above the building and used as a fireplace when it was a town hall. Later it was the home of a higher primary school.
After the October Revolution, a second-level school, a fruit and vegetable college, a secondary school, the House of Pioneers and Schoolchildren, the House of Creativity of Schoolchildren and the first Komsomol cell in the city were organized here.
The building currently houses the Municipal Budgetary Institution of Additional Education «Dalmatovskiy House of Children’s Creativity».
